HWCV Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting was held in conjunction with our last bimonthly meeting on 13 October 2025.
At the AGM it was confirmed our longstanding Secretary, Penny Davidson, will be moving away from the area in the foreseeable future and so not able to continue in the role.
It would be impossible in a few lines here to thank Penny enough for the exceedingly thorough and professional commitment she has brought to the role.
Penny has been an endless source of knowledge and information, a tireless advocate and a highly respected ambassador for the Voice. Her drive and enthusiasm will be greatly missed by all.

- Jervis Bay Mussel Farm Update
- The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) has commenced a Blue Mussel Genetics and Spatfall Monitoring Program to address concerns raised by local divers, associations and other interested parties about mussel spatfall in Jervis Bay.The Monitoring Program is a requirement of the approval conditions to modify the mussel farm leases within Jervis Bay. - Welcome Changes to Proposed Development of 3 Lot Site Incorporating 1 Bowen St, 38 & 40 Sydney St, Huskisson

Under the Ministerial Statement of Expectations Order, Shoalhaven Council is required to assess development applications (DAs) within 105 calendar days following lodgement. More Information

Planning Proposal (PP079) to Amend the Shoalhaven Local Environmental Plan 2014.We have followed up on our ongoing objections to the existing height codes being altered to suit a single development and the perceived negative impact on White Sands Park and the township. It is currently before the State Government for approval and they have asked for any final submissions. More Information

- Community Wellbeing Grant Recipients ConfirmedThe 2025-26 Community Wellbeing Grant recipients have been confirmed, with 34 successful applicants receiving funding to support community wellbeing. At its meeting on Tuesday 14 October, Council concluded its deliberations on applications received and has now resolved to grant funds to the total of $177,388 to eligible not-for-profit groups for the development and delivery of community programs for the 2025/2026 financial year.
