All 23 Shoalhaven Community Consultative Bodies have remained united in their further discussions regarding some final details and commitment to funding as we move towards Council’s final determination by 1 July 2026.

Regardless we’re here for the long haul and look forward to hearing about any matters you’d care to have raised at our next public bimonthly meeting on Monday 15 June 2026.

SCC Planning Documents and Activity

  • Proposed Changes to NSW Development Consent
    • The NSW Government is proposing changes to the community participation process, specifically your current right as a neighbour to be advised in advance of any proposed developments that may affect you.There are more than 100 different community participation plans across NSW and they are replacing these with a single statewide plan. The proposed approach should not limit councils from implementing tailored engagement strategies within their communities where they may be required but should set a baseline of consultation requirements.More Information
  • New Developer Contributions Plan
    • Council has endorsed a new plan for the Shoalhaven that will see developer contributions continue to help fund essential infrastructure. The Shoalhaven Contributions Plan 2026 identifies 39 priority infrastructure projects, including recreation facilities, road upgrades and community assets.  More Information
  • Interim works begin on The Wool Road
    • Temporary drainage and maintenance works on The Wool Road at Old Erowal Bay have begun, providing a short-term solution until funding is secured for permanent remediation.  The damaged section of road near Mernie Street has deteriorated due to groundwater issues and severe weather over several years.More Information
  • SCC third quarter budget results show strong improvement 
    • Council is reporting a projected consolidated $8.1 million operating surplus for the year ending 30 June 2026 at the January to March quarter, almost doubling the projection of $4.1 million at quarter two.  Contributing factors include salary savings and reduced materials and services driven by lower legal costs, waste levy, and natural disaster projects delivered under budget.  More Information
  • Invitation to Mayor and Councillors to Attend Meeting
    • We recently invited the Mayor and Ward 2 Councillors to attend our next public meeting on Monday 15 June to help explain some of the apparent inconsistencies we have been witnessing and concerns we have for future local town planning. Unfortunately the Mayor and Jemma Tribe are unavailable but Lou Casmiri has responded.  Invitation Letter
