HWCV Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting will be held in conjunction with our next meeting at 7pm on Monday 13 October 2025 at Huskisson Community Centre in Dent Street.

There is an opportunity to take up executive positions at the meeting. 

If you are a concerned resident or simply wish to take a more positive role in ensuring Council is listening to essential feedback from our community, please attend and let us know if you can nominate, either for yourself or another person.

Our ability to access local and state government bodies and negotiate fairly for the community can only come through strong membership.

    • Community Voice Workshop Series Update
      • These workshops introduce asset-based community development and create space for us to begin shaping community-led recommendations on how we can work together to better support local young people. 
      • The workshops will now be:
        • Workshop 1: Strengths & Possibilities Saturday, October 25th – 10am – 4pm Lunch Provided

    • Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan (CISP)
      • There were valuable contributions to the workshops hosted by Shoalhaven City Council in May and June 2025 related to the Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan (CISP). Their Summary Report is now published and available to be viewed on Council’s Get Involved Page.  More Information &  Copy of Report&  CISP Review
    • Shoalhaven Economic Development & Tourism Strategy
      • Shoalhaven City Council is creating a new Economic Development and Tourism Strategy 2035 that will help establish priorities and create a plan to grow the Shoalhaven economy. Shoalhaven businesses, the community, and visitors are invited to provide feedback that will help inform the new strategy.  More Information

    • NSW Department Planning, Housing & Infrastructure Update
      • The Department has updated its Community Participation Plan to support faster assessments of critical housing projects. A minimum 14-day exhibition period now applies to relevant residential State significant development applications, with flexibility to extend the timeframe where appropriate.  More Information
    • Update – Public Exhibition – 28 Bowen St & 34-38 Hawke St, Huskisson – Planning Proposal (PP079) to Amend the Shoalhaven Local Environmental Plan 2014.
      • The Planning Proposal for the current Huskisson Bayside Resort at 28 Bowen Street and 34-38 Hawke Street, Huskisson will be publicly exhibited from 17September 2025 to 17 October 2025 (inclusive) on Council’s website: Documents on exhibition | Shoalhaven City CouncilThe Planning Proposal (PP079) proposed the following changes to the Shoalhaven Local Environmental Plan 2014 (LEP) to construct a visitor accommodation centre:Amend Clause 4.3 Height of Building development standard related to the subject land to 12 metres across all sites (from the existing 7.5 metre height limit that applies to 28 Bowen Street and 11 metre height limit that applies to 34-38 Hawke Street).You are encouraged to view the Planning Proposal and to have your say on the proposed changes.
