Community Voice Invitation

There is an upcoming series of community development workshops Firefly is hosting as part of Community Voice – a co-designed community listening project with young people and the wider community.

These workshops will introduce asset-based community development and create space for us to begin shaping community-led recommendations on how we can work together to better support local young people.

If you’re interested in participating and supporting young people in our community please check the session details attached and let them know by this Friday 12 September if you or a representative can join them.

SCC Planning Documents and Activity

  • Shoalhaven Interim Lane Policy
There are currently no specific DCP controls which identify or set parameters for development along narrow laneways across Shoalhaven in respect to:Their use as a primary frontage and access, orSpecific building design or impact mitigation controls. In the absence of any planning controls that address potential issues arising from increased development in these locations, there may be adverse impacts on the current use and function of narrow laneways, and the overall character and residential amenity of these areas.  More Information. We are presently seeking more information regarding a request from Clr Lou Casmiri that a document regarding this item “from an external source” be circulated. Understandably The HWCV would like to have a copy of this circulated document, as the issue of laneways is sure to come up in the community as this item policy is being progressed..
  • Home Sustainability Workshops are back for Spring!
Transform kitchen food scraps and garden organic waste into nutrient rich soil for your garden and receive a free compost bin for your household when you complete the workshop.Summer’s coming with the bush fire danger period starting soon.
