They do more, much more! Way beyond collecting our bins. How do they do all that? What have they invented to do all this? The Shoalhaven has an amazing team – come and find out what they do!!
Shoalhaven City Council offers community groups the opportunity to see first-hand how waste and recycling is managed in the Shoalhaven.
The tour of the West Nowra Recycling & Waste Depot takes you to areas normally restricted to the public, so you can see a behind-the-scene view of how a well-engineered landfill operates and how your Council manages Shoalhaven’s waste everyday.
Please be aware there are no toilet stops from the time the bus leaves St Georges Basin until you get back to the Council Administration Building (Nowra) – possibly two (2) hours. The Country Club is closed at the time we leave.
Rough tour Itinerary (Approximate times)
Meet at SGB Country Club Car Park 8.50am
8.50 am Bus arrives St Georges Basin Country Club parking area
9.00 am Bus leaves
9.45 am Arrive at West Nowra Recycling and Waste Depot
TOUR STARTS
11:00am Site tour finishes
11.15am Arrive Council Administration building Nowra for morning tea/light lunch
11.30am Recycling Q & A over refreshments
12.30pm Tour concludes
1.15pm Arrive back at SGB Country Club
