Update, call for feedback, and ways to support people struggling over winter

Support those in need this winter – many people are doing it extremely tough. You can make donations through GIVEIT, Physical items can be dropped at libraries, council administration centres, aquatic facilities and the Entertainment Centre before 16th July.  These items will be distributed at the Thrive Together Fair, 8th August. 

Update from last meeting

  • The Huskisson Woollamia Community Voice has written to Council about
    • repair to walking path (Request RDS23-03790), 
    • cleaning schedule
    • comment on dog access policy 
    • community preference for naming lane – this item will be discussed at the Council meeting 26th June.
  • Council have announced they will cover the cost of public liability for CCB activities and events for up to 500 people. 

SCC Planning documents for comment

  • Council will be holding workshop on the Coastal Management Plan for the Lower Shoalhaven Tiver. More information and to book into the workshops use this link.  
  • The Sussex Inlet, St Georges Basin, Swan Lake and Berrara Creek Coastal Management Programs (CMP) are now progressing through to Stage 3. In this stage, a list of Potential Management Actions has been developed for consideration. We are asking the community to provide feedback and suggestions on the proposed management actions.  Online survey here.
  • Shoalhaven City Council has recently expanded the CoastSnap monitoring program, with the installation of five new CoastSnap stations. These CoastSnap stations allow all members of the community to use their smartphone to help keep track of our local shoreline. These new stations can be found at the following locations:
    • Boat Harbour Beach (Bendalong)
    • Racecourse Beach
    • Mollymook Beach (Northern End)
    • Kioloa Beach
    • Plantation Point
