Voice to Parliament information session

The Huskisson Woollamia Community Voice is forwarding an email that came through last week for your information:

My name is Raul Arregui, and I am a member of the Shoalhaven Alliance for Yes23 group.

We are a group of volunteers who live and/or work in the Shoalhaven Local Government Area and are committed to supporting the Yes Alliance’s campaign to secure a YES outcome on the Voice to Parliament Referendum in 2023.

As we approach the referendum polling date, it is important to educate ourselves on this crucial vote that can provide better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and a platform for First Nations people to have a say on issues that affect them.

Thomas Mayo, Signatory and Advocate for the Uluru Statement from the Heart and Director of the Yes Alliance, will host a special community information session in Nowra. Attendees will learn more about the upcoming referendum, and what this vote means for First Nations people and for our country.

The purpose of this message is to invite you and the members of your association to attend this very important event, to be held at the Nowra Showground Pavilion, on Saturday 17th June, and it will consist of two (2) sessions:

  • Koori Community Only Session – Sat 17 June 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Open to All Community Session – Sat 17 June 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

This event is supported by the Yes Alliance (https://yes23.com.au), Waminda (https://waminda.org.au) and the Shoalhaven Alliance for Yes23 (https://say23.au).

We would appreciate it very much if you could please forward this message to the members of your association, and to anyone else who might be interested in attending.

Registrations to attend the event can be made at https://www.trybooking.com/CIZSQ

If you have any questions, please contact our group on info@say23.au. Sincerely,

Raul Arregui
