Information about bird flu

As we live on the coast it is important that we all understand what is likely to happen when Avian flu arrives.  To find out more about the Avian flu which is expected to arrive in Australia in the coming months check out these resources:

Pre-poll for the local council elections starts Saturday 7th September, and polling day is 14th September.  Find out how the candidates responded to questions from Bay and Basin communities.

Please be aware that the bush fire season has started, which means that you will need a fire permit to do you pile burn.  You can apply for a permit (free) by going to this link.

SCC and State Planning documents for comment or action

The following documents have been finalised and adopted.

  • Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan 2017 – 2036 (CISP) has been finalised.  You can view this document, and the comments made on the draft. 
  • The SCC Affordable housing strategy has been adopted
  • Aquatic centre has re-opened
  • Basin jetty is being repaired
  • Open Coast and Jervis Bay Coastal Management Plan has been endorsed by the State.
