Updates from last meeting

  • You’re probably all aware that Council has been working on the access at Sharknet Beach. Following resident’s concern about the works HWCV contacted council and received the attached explanation. Unfortunately, notification of the works was sent to VRRA but not to HWCV.
  • The old Anglican church, corner of Hawke and Bowen Streets, has been heritage listed at local government level. Congratulations to the Huskisson Heritage Association in achieving this outcome!

Updates from SCC and State government

  • Play equipment will be installed at the Burton St mall, Vincentia after the forthcoming school holidays.
  • Shoalhaven residents can dispose of flood-damaged waste free of charge at any of the Council Recycling and Waste Depots during normal depot opening days and times.The full fee waiver applies until 22 April 2024. The State Government Levy portion of the fee will then continue to be waived until 30 June 2024.Residents will be required to sign a declaration at the waste depot that the waste disposed is a result of flooding from the rain event that impacted areas across the city.

  • The Legislative Assembly Committee on Environment and Planning is holding an inquiry into historical development consents (zombie DAs) in New South Wales.  Submissions can now be made to this inquiry, up until 3rd June 2024.  More information here including Terms of Reference.
