Actions from Last Meeting
The report on the Planning Proposal Request to Amend the Shoalhaven Local Environments Plan 2014 for 28 Bowen Street and 34-38 Hawke Street, Huskisson were considered at Council’s Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday 17 June 2025.
A deputation on behalf of the HWCV at the Meeting requested the existing building height codes not be altered as sought for the proposed redevelopment of the existing Huskisson Bayside Resort site on the corner of Hawke & Bowen Streets. The precedent it sets for the area and the imposing visual impact on White Sands Park were of utmost concern.
Regrettably Council voted unanimously in favour of the changes requested, allowing the application to continue presumably subject to the lodgment of comprehensive and detailed plans for a 72 room hotel on the site, making it by far the largest anywhere in the Shoalhaven. More information.
