We have just been notified of a Planning Proposal for 28 Bowen St and 34-38 Hawke St – to raise the height limit to 12m – current height limit is 7.5m and 11m. This is in order to build a new motel with 72 rooms.

SCC Planning Documents and Activity – your feedback needed

  • Proposal for pedestrian crossings in Huskisson – please comment by 20th June.  Information here.
  • Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan Review – closes 30th June
    • “With more than 600 open space and community facilities across the Shoalhaven it’s vital we have a comprehensive strategy in place to help guide Council’s short, medium and long-term planning and investment. … We need you to tell us what you want from the buildings, parks, sportsgrounds, pools and playgrounds in your neighbourhood. This data will help create a vision for the next 30 years and contribute to the Shoalhaven’s liveability.”

  • At the recent CCB executive meeting with Council information was given about progress towards financial sustainability and other areas.  A link to the talks given will be sent out when available.  Meanwhile:
    • Financial sustainability Council is keeping the community up to date through this webpage – if I’ve understood correctly Council has gone from a $32 million operating deficit in late 2025 to $17.5 million operating deficit.
