- Council has resolved to revert the 45 Degree Rule to the version that was in place prior to 16 August 2023.
- Under the current trial rule, approval to remove a tree is still not required however landowners must:·
- Notify the Council and neighbours before a tree is removed ·
- Utilise a qualified and experienced arborist to remove the tree.
- The proposed changes that will be exhibited would see the rule’s previous version reinstated and landowners would not be required to:·
- Notify council and neighbours of tree removal·
- Utilise a qualified and experienced person to undertake the tree removal·
- Maintain evidence of compliance with the 45Degree Rule.
- The proposed changes will be on public exhibition for review from 30 October until 29 November 2024. More information and submissions
- Note – Council has not reported the results of the trial to date.

- Transport for NSW is seeking feedback on ‘how we can plan for the future of transport in the Illawarra-Shoalhaven region. Early consultation is closing soon. - Integrating OPAL into public transport services further south·
- Addressing congestion on the M1, particularly around urban growth areas like Dapto and Kanahooka·
- Building long-term resilience to natural disasters on routes that traverse the escarpment·
- Greater integration between trains and feeder services like buses or shared paths
- So far feedback has included:·
- University of Sydney are undertaking an investigation into whether existing aged care services and infrastructure will meet Baby Boomer expectations as they become octogenarians.
- They are keen to hear from more men – if you were born between 1946 and 1964 have your say – you might help improve services.
